1. About Huawei ID

1.1 What is a Huawei ID and why do I need one?

Register for a Huawei ID to access Huawei services, including HiCloud, Themes, vMall, HiCare, and HiGame.

Some Huawei services are not available in all countries and regions.

1.2 Where can I use my Huawei ID?

You can log in to your Huawei ID from anywhere in the world that has an Internet connection. If login fails, check that you are using the latest version of the Huawei ID app.

Huawei services may vary depending upon copyright and legal restrictions in your jurisdiction.

1.3 Why is the Huawei ID app called Huawei Mobile Services?

As of version 2.4.0, the Huawei ID app was renamed Huawei Mobile Services. The new app unifies account, messaging, notification, and payment features.(Payment features are not supported in all countries and regions.)

2. Registering for a Huawei ID

2.1 How do I register for a Huawei ID?

1. Registering on your phone

On devices running EMUI version 3.1 or lower:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account > Huawei ID > Register;

On devices running EMUI version 4.0 or higher:

Go to Settings > Huawei ID > Register.

Use your mobile number to register:

(i) Read and accept the Terms and Conditions. (ii) Enter your mobile number and then enter the SMS verification code you receive. (iii) Configure a password.

Use your email address to register:

(i) Read and accept the Terms and Conditions; (ii) Select Email and then enter your email address; (iii) Configure a password; (iv) Go to your email inbox and open the link in the verification email; (v) You can now start using your Huawei ID.

2. Registering on your computer

Visit the HiCloud website (cloud.huawei.com) and click Register. Select the Phone Number or Email tab from the upper-left corner of the screen.

Use your mobile number to register:

(i) Enter your mobile number and request an SMS verification code; (ii) Enter the SMS verification code you receive; (iii) Configure a password; (iv) Touch the button to complete registration.

Use your email address to register:

(i) Enter your email address and request an email verification code; (ii) Enter the verification code you receive; (iii) Configure a password; (iv) Touch the button to complete registration.

2.2 Why must I enter my mobile number or email address to register?

Huawei requires some personal information, including your mobile number or email address, to protect your account. You can use your mobile number or email address to log in, reset your password, verify your identity, and secure your Huawei ID account. The pros and cons of each are listed below:

1. Mobile number

Using your mobile number is the fastest and most convenient way of verifying your identity. However, you will not be able to verify your identity if you lose your phone.

2. Email address

Using your email address is the most reliable way of verifying your identity. If you lose your mobile phone, you can still access your email inbox from a computer.

Note: Before you change your mobile number or email address, first update your Huawei ID settings to avoid losing personal data.

2.3 Why do I sometimes not receive SMS verification messages?

This could be due to the following reasons:

1. You entered the wrong mobile number

If you enter the wrong mobile number, your phone will not receive SMS verification message.

Check that the number you entered is correct.

2. Your carrier is blocking verification messages

If you have previously reported notification messages from Huawei as spam, your carrier may block SMS verification messages.

Contact your carrier to unblock notification messages from Huawei.

3. Your phone has blacklisted verification messages

Your spam filter may be blocking messages from Huawei.

On phones running EMUI 4.0 or 5.0, go to Phone Manager > Harassment filter > Messages, and check whether verification messages sent by Huawei have been intercepted.

4. Network delays

Network problems can cause delayed delivery of SMS verification messages.

Please wait a moment, or request a new SMS verification message.

2.4 Why do I sometimes not receive account verification emails?

This could be due to the following reasons:

1. You entered the wrong email address

If you enter the wrong email address, you will not receive account verification emails.

Check that the email address you entered is correct.

2. Message delivery was delayed

Network or server problems can cause delayed delivery of account verification emails.

Please wait a moment, or request a new verification email.

3. The email was marked as spam

If verification emails do not appear in your inbox, they may have been marked as spam.

Check if the verification email has been placed in your spam folder.

2.5 Why can't I use my mobile number or email address to register for a Huawei ID?

This could be due to the following reasons:

1. The mobile number or email address is already associated with another Huawei ID.

For security reasons, each mobile number or email address can only be associated with one Huawei ID.

Log in using your existing Huawei ID, or register for a new Huawei ID using a different mobile number or email address.

2. Why can't I register another Huawei ID on my device?

To prevent users from creating null accounts, there is a limit on how many Huawei IDs you can create on your device. If you exceed this limit, the account registration function will be suspended.

Please wait for the device suspension to be lifted, and then try again.

2.6 Why are some country codes unavailable when I use my mobile number to register for a Huawei ID?

In some countries and regions, you cannot use your mobile number to register for a Huawei ID. This is due to carrier restrictions.Please use your email address to register for a Huawei ID.

3. Logging in to your Huawei ID

3.1 How do I log in to my Huawei ID?

1. Enter the mobile number or email address and password that you registered with to log in.

2. Log in using a third-party account, such as your Google or Facebook account.

If you select this method, a third-party authentication window will appear. Once you log in, you will be asked for permission to use your profile picture, name, and email address. Your email address will be used to create a new Huawei ID if it is not already associated with an existing Huawei ID.

3.2 Why can't I log in with my Huawei ID?

This could be due to the following reasons:

1. Policy violations

If you violate user policies when logged in to your Huawei ID (such as by posting illegal content, or issuing unwanted friend requests), your account will be suspended.

Please wait for the suspension to be lifted, or contact Huawei customer services.

2. You entered the wrong password multiple times

Your Huawei ID will be suspended if you enter the wrong password too many times.

Wait 24 hours for the suspension to be lifted, and then try again. Alternatively, select Forgot password? to reset your password.

3.3 Can I log in to my Huawei ID on multiple devices?

You can log in to your Huawei ID on a maximum of 10 devices. If you exceed this limit, new devices will replace older devices, which will be logged out automatically.

3.4 What should I do if I change my mobile number or email address?

Ensure you log in to your Huawei ID and update your account details before you change your mobile number or email address. You will need to use your mobile number or email address to verify your identity.

If you do not update your account details before you change your mobile number or email address, please take the following steps:

1. On a frequently-used device, update Huawei Mobile Services (Huawei ID) to version 2.5.0.

2. If you know your Huawei ID password:

Log in with your Huawei ID and password. During the SMS or email verification stage, touch “没有收到验证码?”->申请更改华为帐号->输入华为帐号和密码->验证常用设备->绑定新华为帐号. You will receive a notification message when your request is approved. This can take a few days.

3. If you have forgotten your Huawei ID password:

Select Forgot password? on the login screen. Enter your Huawei ID, verify your identity, and then select “没有收到验证码?”->验证常用设备->验证附加信息->绑定新华为帐号. You will receive a notification message when your request is approved. This can take a few days.

4. If you don't have a frequently-used device, or your request was not approved, please contact customer services.

4. Password issues

4.1 How do I retrieve my password?

(i) Touch Forgot password? on the login screen. (ii) Enter your Huawei ID. (iii) Enter the verification code. (iv) Enter a new password.

If other devices are using this Huawei ID, you will need to log back with your new password.

You can verify your identity in two ways:

Enter a verification code sent to the phone number or email address associated with your Huawei ID.

Enter a verification code sent to the security phone number or email address associated with your Huawei ID.

4.2 I have lost my phone. How do I prevent others from resetting my Huawei ID password via SMS?

Go to your Huawei ID security settings and change the password reset method to Email only.

Before changing the settings, ensure that you have associated an email address with your account or configured a security email.

5. Managing your Huawei ID

5.1 How do I manage my Huawei ID settings?

1. On your phone:

EMUI 4.0 or above: Go to Settings > Huawei ID.

EMUI 3.1 or below: Go to HiCloud or Themes. Touch your profile photo to enter the account center of Huawei ID.

Then go to Settings > Shortcuts, and to create home screen shortcuts for Huawei ID and Messages.

2. On your computer

Log in with your Huawei ID on the Huawei Cloud website (cloud.huawei.com) and click your profile photo in the upper-right corner.

5.2 Why are some nicknames unavailable?

Some nicknames may be blocked for legal reasons. If your desired nickname is unavailable, try using another nickname.

5.3 Can I associate a phone number and an email address with my Huawei ID?

Yes. Go to Huawei ID > Accounts, and select the desired option. After verifying your identity, add your phone number or email address and enter the verification code.

Each Huawei ID can be associated with one phone number and one email address.

If the phone number or email address that you want to add is associated with another account, delete it from the other account first.

5.4 Can I delete my phone number or email address from my account?

Yes. If you have associated a phone number and an email address with your account, you can delete one of these contact methods as follows:

Go to Huawei ID > Accounts, and select the phone number or email address that you want to remove and follow the onscreen instructions.

5.5 Can I remove a third-party account from my Huawei ID?

Yes. Go to Huawei ID > Accounts, and select the account that you want to remove and enter your Huawei ID password.

5.6 Why can't I link a WeChat or Google account?

Possible reason:

Your WeChat (Google) account is already linked to a HUAWEI ID.

Solutions:

Solution 1

1. Log out of your HUAWEI ID.

2. Use WeChat (or your Google account) to log in to the other HUAWEI ID, then delete that ID.

3. Log back in to the HUAWEI ID you logged out of in Step 1, then link your WeChat account.

Solution 2

1. Log out of your HUAWEI ID.

2. Use WeChat (or your Google account) to log in to the other HUAWEI ID. Next, link a phone number or email address to the ID, then unlink WeChat.

3. Log back in to the HUAWEI ID you logged out of in Step 1, then link your WeChat account.

6. Account security

6.1 What is the Account protection feature?

When Account protection is enabled, you will be prompted to enter both the password and an SMS or email verification code when you log in on a new device or web browser.

1. Logging in on new devices

You only need to enter the verification code once for each device. To remove a device from the trusted devices list, delete it and log out from your account settings.

2. Logging in on new browsers

If you select Remember this browser, when you enter the verification code, you will not need to enter a code again when you use the same browser.

To forget the browser, clear cookies or touch Log out from all browsers in your account settings.

6.2 How do I verify my identity?

Enter the code that you receive via SMS or email. The verification code can be sent to:

The phone number or email address associated with your Huawei ID.

The security phone number or email address associated with your Huawei ID.

Go to Huawei ID > Security option, and set the password reset and verification method to Email only to prevent others from accessing your account if you lose your phone.

6.3 What can I do if cannot receive the verification code?

Try sending the verification code again. If you have reached the maximum number of send requests, try again in 24 hours or contact Huawei customer service.

If you cannot receive verification codes via email, refer to "Why do I sometimes not receive account verification emails?";

If you cannot receive SMS verification codes, refer to "Why do I sometimes not receive SMS verification messages?";

To change your email address or phone number, refer to "How do I change my security phone number or email address?".

6.4 Why do I need to configure a security phone number or email address?

Your security phone number or email address is used to reset your password, verify your identity, and delete your account.

For security reasons, do not use the same phone number or email address that is associated with your account.

You will be prompted to enter a verification code when you add, change, or delete your security phone number or email address.

6.5 How do I change my security phone number or email address?

Go to Huawei ID > Account protection, then you can change the security phone number or email associated with your phone. You must have access to your old phone number or email address in order to receive a verification code.

6.6 How can I manage devices that are logged in with my Huawei ID?

The device list can be accessed from your Account protection settings. Up to 10 devices can be logged in with your Huawei ID at the same time. The first device to log in will be automatically logged out if this limit is exceeded.

Touch a device to view detailed information or remove it from the list. If you remove a device from the list, you will be required to enter a verification code the next time you log in using that device.

7. Other account security measures

7.1 Why am I prompted to change my password when I log in?

Huawei recently changed its password policy to enhance account security. If your password does not meet the new requirements, you will be prompted to change your password.

You will need to enter the new password on other devices that are logged in with your Huawei ID. If you are using a device that runs EMUI 4.0 or below, you will need to log back in with the new password in order to use the Find my phone feature.

7.2 Why am I prompted to enter a verification code when I log in?

For security reasons, you will be prompted to enter a verification code when a suspicious login attempt is detected. This two-tier security feature is designed to prevent your account against unauthorized access.

7.3 Why do I receive a notification when I log in?

1. Logging in on your device

You will receive a notification via email or SMS when you log in on a Huawei device. If you do not recognize the login attempt, change your password to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

Login notifications will not be sent when Account protection is enabled, since you will be asked to verify your identify.

2. How do I disable login notifications?

Go to Huawei ID > Settings > Notifications, and switch off login notifications.

7.4 I have lost my phone. How can I prevent others from receiving SMS verification codes and accessing my account?

Go to Huawei ID > Security options, and set the password reset and verification method to Email only.

7.5 Why I am prompted to enter my account password when I change the SIM card?

This is a built-in security feature designed to prevent unauthorized access to your data.
